Have you worked with clients with cervical dystonia / generalized dystonia / oromandibular dystonia? Yes, most Hope for Dystonia clients have these types of dystonia and can benefit greatly from the program

What is the difference between Hope for Dystonia and Dr. Farías's Dystonia Recovery Program? Here are a few differences: 

(1) Empowerment: with Hope for Dystonia you won't do a series of standardized exercises mechanically, but rather you'll be empowered to get to know your nervous system, and your cranial nerves in particular, so you can devote your energy to stimulating the pathways that actually need to be awakened in your specific case. You are in charge of your own healing: the better you know your nervous system, the easier it becomes to produce the changes you are looking for. 
 

(2) Comprehensiveness: Hope for Dystonia helps you learn to stimulate your cranial nerves, induce neuroplasticity with mushrooms, heal trauma through self-compassion and embodied practices, detoxify and hypernourish the body, use movement and dance to retrain the nervous system, and so much more. It is the most comprehensive program out there - simply because dystonia is a whole-person disorder, and requires whole-person healing. 
 

(3) Personalized attention: Hope for Dystonia coaching is designed for one-on-one sessions that are tailor-made for you, or for small groups (the Hope for Dystonia Self-Healers' Club - only on certain dates; sign up for the mailing list to know if and when it is offered again). 

Should I be doing PT / weight lifting / Pilates or any other form of exercise? The important thing to keep in mind about dystonia and exercise of any kind is that the exercise should serve the project of healing. In particular, exercise should help you utilize your hypotonic pathways and integrate them into functional patterns; in order to do so, it is crucial to get to know your nervous system, and your cranial nerves in particular if you are dealing with dystonia in the head, neck or the entire body. Once you are equipped with this self-awareness, you will be able to make sure that any exercise you do is helping you reach your objective of learning a new pattern in the nervous system rather than reinforcing existing dysfunctional ones. 

Have you worked with clients focal dystonia / musician's dystonia / the yips? Yes, a substantial number of Hope for Dystonia clients have these types of dystonia and can benefit greatly from the program. 

What is your success rate and how long does it take to get better? These are difficult questions to answer because recovery depends first and foremost on the person trying to recover.

 

100% of clients develop the kind of transformative awareness of the nervous system that they need in order to rewire it, and acquire invaluable tools.

 

What happens next depends on the individual, as recovery can really only be brought about by the client. Some people notice remarkable improvement after three sessions, while for others it takes longer. Factors that impact how quickly one can recover include:

 

(1) Age. the brain becomes less plastic as we get older.

(2) The length of time someone has dealt with dystonia symptoms. The longer it's been there, the more entrenched those patterns are.

 

(3) The severity of any anatomical and occlusal imbalances that provide dysfunctional inputs to the nervous system, Some of these take time to address, although progress can be made regardless of their presence

(4) The number of causal co-factors impacting the nervous system, such as TMJ imbalance, toxicity, viral infections, trauma, etc. 

 

(5) The degree of openness and determination of the client, and so much more. 

Remember: in Hope for Dystonia coaching nothing is done to you, everything is done by you. Ultimately, the clients who make the most progress are the ones that take responsibility for their own healing and proactively pursue it. No-one can do this for you but the good news is that you can!
